How to Decide Your Fire Screen Size

When is comes to fitting your fireplace with a screen, there are no strict rules, but we do have some helpful tips.

Step 1

Measure the WIDTH and HEIGHT of the firebox

(the opening of the fireplace)

Step 2

Decide which fit works best for you.

(see below to two most common options we suggest)

Inside the box

Take your firebox measurements then subtract 2" to the width and 1" from the height. Recommended for decorative-only fire screens (gas-burning fireplaces).

Outside the box

Take your firebox measurements, then add 2" to the width and 1" to the height. Recommended for wood-burning fireplaces to protect from stray embers.
